Ebook Compiler

When most people think of the phrase ebook compiler, they think of a program that takes many different pages, usually HTML pages as if from a web site, and "compiles" them into a self-executing program, usually a Windows-bassed EXE file.

The main problem with a typical ebook compiler is that is generates an ebook that's only usable by people using Windows -- and while that is a majority of the market, the number of Macintosh users are multiplying and even more importantly, Mac users are known for being a bit "rabid" about things they like.

Which means if you come out with a product that works on a Mac, and solves a problem, Mac users may become your biggest cheerleaders!

There are a couple ways to handle the cross-platform ebook dilemma -- the first is to use the PDF format to create your ebook. Every major (and most minor) computer systems have freely available Adobe Acrobat Readers, so everybody can use a PDF ebook.

Another way to handle the problem is to choose an ebook compiler that generates both Windows and Macintosh ebooks. One of the best on the market is Sonic Info Builder. It allows you to compile existing web pages, text files, audio and video files, and PDF documents into one ebook -- and it will generate two version: one for Windows and one for Mac OS X.

Sonic Info Builder is available for less than $100 and is a digital product -- which means you can download it immediately and get started with your new ebook compiler right away.
